Justin Sullivan becomes RICS president for 2025

On 1 January 2025, Justin Sullivan became the 143rd president of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

Justin is the founder and CEO of Adair, which has provided expert construction consultancy services globally for over thirty years.

Justin is passionate about developing the next generation of surveyors and recognises the challenges that ongoing skills shortages across the globe present to the profession and the built environment as a whole.

He is keen to maintain recognition of the profession’s positive impact on society at large. RICS fellow Nicholas Maclean becomes president elect following his service as senior vice president. 

Digital construction week 2025

Digital Construction Week has opened the call for speakers for its 2025 edition, industry innovators are invited to apply to speak at the event. DCW explores cutting-edge developments shaping the future of architecture, engineering, construction and operations. It offers AECO professionals an opportunity to share insights, showcase breakthroughs, and connect with a vibrant community of change-makers.

Selected speakers will gain the chance to connect with an engaged audience of professionals, including decisionmakers from across the built environment. The event will take place at Excel London on 4-5 June 2025. The deadline to submit applications is 5pm on Friday 21 February 2025. Interested speakers can submit their proposals via the DCW website.

Dr Wei Yang, CIC chair is awarded the OBE in the King’s new year honours’ list 2025

The Construction Industry Council (CIC) warmly congratulates Dr Wei Yang on being awarded the OBE for services to the town planning industry.

Wei is a fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences, a fellow of the RTPI, a member of the Chartered Institute of Highway and Transportation (CHIT) and an honorary professor at University College London.

CIC would also like to extend their congratulations to Amos Simbo, founder of Black Professionals in Construction Network (BPIC) who has also been awarded an OBE for services to construction.
