Ireland & Northern Ireland region’s annual golf competition and ‘bring a non-member’ day’ in June with Andrew Harrison (left, alongside Philip Bell on the right) winning the coveted I&NI Regional Golf Trophy for 2024 for the geospatial team. 

North West & North Wales region’s golf day sees team PP O’Connor take first place, followed by A E Yates, and Geoterra. Kevin Archer of PP O’Connor took first place in the individual standings, followed by Mark Hudson, of Geoterra, and James Whitworth of Leica.

21 AUG 24: A tour of Lough Foyle shoreline

Lough Foyle Shoreline, Magilligan, County Londonderry, depart 9.30am Belfast

To mark the commencement of the first survey in Ireland 200 years ago, the region has put on a visit and free tour of the Lough Foyle shoreline, Magilligan in County Londonderry. It was here where Ordnance Survey carried out the mapping of the Lough Foyle Baseline – stretching eight miles from Magilligan to the South Base Tower at Ballykelly. A regional committee meeting held at the Drummond Hotel in Ballykelly will follow with dinner after that with full details on this to follow.

All members are welcome to attend.

New deputy chair vacancy

An opportunity has opened up for a new deputy chair of the region. The successful applicant will join the region’s ‘chairs chain’ and step up to full chair post-March 2025 (can be negotiable). Come and join the committee in this rewarding role that helps to shape and provide valuable input into a thriving region while having fun. No previous committee experience is required.
