North West & North Wales

North West & North Wales axe throwing event in Manchester which saw Liam Cottrell from Formby Surveys come out on top as the axe-wielding winner and Mark Hudson as runner-up.

29 JUN 23: CICES/CECA annual golf day

Leigh Golf Club, Warrington, 11.30am-late

Organised by the Falcon Golf team, there will be prizes for the longest drive and nearest the pin as well as the two trophies, the Mark Fairclough Trophy to the individual winner and the CECA NW Trophy to the winning team.

The event is £65 plus VAT with lunch and evening meal provided, plus a goody bag and some refreshments. Bookings to cecagolf@btinternet.com

07 JUN 23: St Andrew’s golf evening

TBC, St Andrews, 6pm-8pm

Long drive and closest to the pin competition for golfers and nongolfers. The event is £10 and includes a two-hour session, plus a buffet and drinks.

South East

08 JUN 23: Commercial Management Conference 2023: Addressing climate change in civil engineering

South East Plowman Craven’s Vogel R3D event with speaker, Tom Avery, operations manager.

Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner, Governors House, London, 1pm-6.15pm

A half-day commercial management conference covering digital transformation. Mark Wheeler, CEO of Driver Trett chairs.

Keynote comes from Mark Farmer, Cast Consultancy CEO and government-appointed champion for modern methods of construction. CICES president, Andy Evans will also discuss the CICES sustainability strategy and there will be a presentation on the NEC option covering climate change targets by Ian Heaphy, who is on the NEC4 contract board, IN Construction Consulting. South West & South Wales

10 JUN 23: Avon Gorge River Cruise

Wapping Wharf, Bristol, 9.50am-1.30pm

Sponsored by Keyline, the cruise departs at 9.50am sharp. There will be a cash bar. All money raised will go to support The Grand Appeal, the Bristol Children’s Hospital charity. The event is £8 with a buffet included in this.
