In January, Class Of Your Own (COYO) launched its annual international competition for schools. The challenge was to design a rail station hub and route and required competing schools to design a net zero rail station hub and route to connect a local community-where people live, work, rest and play-with a main station in a nearby city or town. The design needed to reflect the values of inclusivity, accessibility, biodiversity and community spirit. A panel of industry professionals selected the entry from Uptown International School Dubai as the winner, with the judges stating that their entry felt like a professional standard, comprehensive stage 2 report. The students developed their ideas with industry support from Bentley, Mott MacDonald, Grimshaw, Sterling DCS, Turner & Townsend and Cadventure. The process culminated in a celebration event, held at the Bentley Systems office in London.

A special mention for CICES award winner, Sapper Sulav Rana for exceptional achievement.
Led by the Construction Leadership Council (CLC) and supported by nima, CICES has become a founding supporter of the information management initiative (IMI). Its aim is to become an industry-led, government-supported programme which transforms information management practices across the built and natural environment sector.
