Commenting on the publication of the Government’s ‘Get Britain Working’ White Paper, Peter McGettrick, chair of British Safety Council, said “Even before the pandemic, numbers of people out of work with long-term health conditions was on the rise and the trend has only continued, so it is good to see this concerted attempt by the government to support people into work and help them to remain there. Whether or not it can deliver on its promises remains to be seen, but we need a fresh approach to this serious issue. Worsening health outcomes and rising levels of economic inactivity contribute to low productivity in the UK, making it harder to deliver growth. Coresearchers develop game to help teachers in rural Vietnam embrace artificial intelligence in the classroom

Coventry University is using generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) to equip teachers in rural Vietnam with the skills and knowledge to integrate such tools into their teaching practices by launching GameAid.

The project, will support Vietnamese educators by designing, prototyping and evaluating a serious game that illustrates how GenAI applications and tools can be integrated into teaching in playful and engaging ways.

GameAid is equipping teahcers with the tool they need to meet the demands of the future.

 

Solar farms for the Tube network

Transport for London (TfL) is seeking a delivery partner to work collaboratively to develop purpose-built solar farms to connect to the London Underground network, with opportunities for a broader connection to TfL’s estate. Bidders are invited to participate in a competitive tender, which opened on 31 October. Unlocking renewable energy sources in London will create green jobs and increase the UK’s renewable energy market confidence with a wider ambition to use 100% renewable source electricity across TfL’s operations by 2030.
